Look who's talking now, it's the sound of a precious new addition to the family, your baby! Let me start off by saying that I was inspired to write this hub after reading the article of a fellow hubber on infant/toddler sign language which was very good and informative. I  have always felt that babies had their own little language where they could possibly understand each other and be understood by all of us big people as well!

I saw on the Oprah Winfrey show a few years back, a lady by the name of Priscilla Dunstan who could understand the language within the cry of a baby. I think her gift is amazing and even though I could read my baby's body language, basically knowing what was wrong just by learning her behavior at certain times, like most moms, I would have loved to have known about this universal baby communication.

I think God is amazing in his creation of life. The fact that babies arrive into the earth's realm, prepared to communicate with their signs and their sounds is mind blowing.

Here is a recap of five words and their meanings introduced to us by Priscilla Dunstan, creator of Dunstan Baby Language.

1) Neh- meaning: I'm hungry

2 )Owh- meaning: I'm tired

3) Eh- meaning: I need to burp(more like trapped air, not gas)

4) Er- meaning: lower gas, something more serious than just needing to burp)

5) Heh- meaning: uncomfortable or, upper gas

These are just a few of the sounds that are a part of the language that all babies seem to share. I believe that having these sounds in mind could help greatly in enabling you to comfort your baby expediently and perhaps lessen crying time!(smile)

I would encourage listening for these sounds to new moms. Give it a try and see how it works for you. I know I speak for moms everywhere and dads too that no matter what we see or hear when it comes to our babies we all speak the same language, the language of love. I hope this is helpful to someone.

Even though I no longer have babies of my own...and the grandchildren are past the new born stage. I still was able to enjoy and smile and remember what it was like. Very nice piece!
